Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my 3 bay Sink Own a pizzeria in Upstate NY. Ordered on Monday and received on Wednesday. Took about 1 hour to install, very simple. Works great with my 3 bay sink. Highly recommend. Local company wanted $750.00 to install this. You can do it yourself with a wrench and a screwdriver and some basic plumbing skills. I especially like that is is raised off the floor 3/4" this will help prolong the life and ensure you are not scraping rotted metal off your floor in 5 years. Great quality highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Service I ordered the Grease Trap, and it was here much sooner than expect! Directions were clear and consistent. I installed it myself, female and 56yrs old. I had to reconfigure the pvc, from the old one, but the venting was all there, and worked out pretty good..!

Q&A

I have a very tight space to fit this unit in. Can you tell me the measurement of the base of the unit(length) and how far does the inlet protrude from the base?

Asked by: Philly
This specification sheet should give the dimensions that you are inquiring about: https://static.primasupply.com/atlantic-metalworks/grease-traps/gi-30-am.pdf. The unit is 20.5" long, and the center of the inlet is 10 3/8" from the base.

interested in the 15gpm model. how easy is it to clean out? access where? top?

Asked by: al43
The unit will clean about as easily as any other standard grease interceptor. The unit will unfasten from the top, where removal of a central screw will allow the top to be removed. An online search will quickly discover some good tips and procedures for cleaning these units.

My grease trap has a terrible smell when you run water down sink; two different plumbers changed connections but still smells, what can I do?

Asked by: dave1
It is difficult to answer your question without seeing the unit, but I'll give some general possibilities. It could be that the gasket on the top of the unit is damaged, thus allowing air to escape) and needs replacing. It is also possible that the unit was not properly vented at the T-valve on the initial installation. Leaking or bad connections are possible as well, but I assume that the plumbers would have caught that issue. Then again, it might be improper drain configuration on the sink (e.g. failure to use a u-trap on the drain) and not the grease trap at all. A grease trap is a simple unit, so it shouldn't be an immensely complicated problem to fix. Check these possible issues, consider changing your plumber, and let us know if you need to purchase a new unit.

What type of finish (paint, etc.) is used on your metal grease traps? I plan to install a trap outdoors, placed on a concrete pad with a "doghouse" for aesthetic purposes and protection from the elements. Is the GI-30 suitable for outdoor installation?

Asked by: 659MIKE
The grease trap is intended for indoor use, and we can't guarantee proper functionality if installed outside. Freezing is a potential problem, among others. The finish is simple paint.
