Grease traps serve a crucial, but easily forgotten, function for commercial kitchens: collecting excess grease from the sewage. That might not sound like a big deal to some. I mean, after all, it’s only a little extra grease; what’s the worst that could happen? What you might not know is that having a grease trap in between your kitchen and the main sewage line helps to prevent an excessive amount of grease from reaching your sewage treatment facility, adverting a potential disaster. Atlantic Metalworks GI-8 - 8 lb 4 gpm Grease Trap Interceptor is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from somewhat difficult to install The inlet and outlet ports are 2" metal slip (no threads). To install this under a kitchen sink took several pvc adapters and reducers with lots of primer and glue. Took a while to install but working good so far. Havent had it long enough to open the lid and see if it is trapping grease.

Are the connections threaded

The connections are not threaded. You'll need no hub couplings to fit the trap to your plumbing.
