Microwaves take up so much room if you keep them on a counter or even on a stand. Why not have an easy to access and space saving shelf? On top of giving you more room to work, having a shelf makes it easier to clean your microwave because it simply won’t get as dirty as if it were on a counter top. Atlantic Metalworks’s (formerly Prima Stainless Steel) shelves can support a significantly higher amount of weight than even the largest of microwaves. That’s because the MWS-1824-E microwave wall shelf is made of 18 GA 430 Stainless Steel. These shelves are also great for storing other types of food equipment such as mixers, slicers or dishware. Backed by the NSF, our microwave shelves are guaranteed free of material and workmanship flaws typically found in lesser quality shelves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Microwave Wall shelf We have purchased several of these shelves as we update the kitchens in a small apartment building. They work perfectly into our plan and the tenants love that they get more counter space with the microwave on its own shelf.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too large for my small kitchen I returned the item because it was too deep for my kitchen and hanging it over my stove was not feasible because of the depth. If you are using it in a residential kitchen be sure to measure, measure, measure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product I needed microwave storage that was not on the counter. I also wanted it above the stove and this works perfectly, and after price comparisons, this was a great deal, along with free shipping. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a microwave wall shelf. I am very pleased with item and service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Shelf at a good price While remodeling my kitchen I decide to free up some counter space and put the microwave on a shelf. After lots of searching on the wed I found exactly what I wanted ay Prima. This shelf holds my full sized microwave and looks great. The workmanship is excellent. I mounted to studs in the wall since my microwave is heavy and the shelf is very strong mounted this way. I would definitely recommend it to a friend and buy again if I need another one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality but deliver dented I bought the item recently. It is of good quality but came dented and not worth shipping back for a new one. The stainless steel had s shine better then what the sales rep stated it can match your stainless steel appliances. Works well for our microwave that was placed above our stove. Overall good piece and great customer service would order from here again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made. Looks good. Good quality material. Worried that my hallow wall anchors won't hold it well, but the shelf itself is heavy duty, well made. Angles and welds are good quality, and installs easily on key holes. Has hole for power cord in bottom. Plastic coating protests finish until installed.

How much distance should there be between a gas stove and the actual shelf. No hood over stove.

Asked by: trishee
If this unit will see service in a commercial setting, there may be relevant building or health codes that would dictate the distance. As you don't have a hood, I imagine that this is a residential application, in which case personal preference and safety considerations should be the main determiners. I would consider mounting it towards the high end of your comfortably reach. Mounting it higher will give you clearance to move and cook freely and keep the microwave further from any grease, oil, or stream generated by the stove below.

Does this come in 30" wide; if so, the cost?

Asked by: Dixie
Unfortunately, Atlantic Metalworks does not produce a 30" model of this shelf.

I have a microwave that is 30" wide. Do you have a shelf that size?

Asked by: Cynt
Unfortunately, no. It appears that a 24" model is the longest microwave shelf that we supply.

I need this shelf in 18 (or 12) by 30. Do you have a shelf that size?

Asked by: too tall
We have the WS-1224-E, which is 12 x 24 inches, and the WS-1236-E, which is 12 x36. Neither of these units are microwave shelves, but the dimensions that you mentioned sound like you may desire a regular shelf. Unfortunately, our only available microwave shelves come in 18x24 and 24x24.

I don't understand when it states that this shelf should be mounted on studs. Studs are 16 inchs apart and in the picture it looks like the mounting holes are more than that. Dennis

Asked by: Dennis J
Dennis, the spread will be approximately 22" between the shelf's mounting holes, so you are correct, they will not match the standard spread of wall studs. Of course, mounting right into studs is preferable, but if this option is not available, you can use wall anchors, or other mounting accessories to properly secure the unit. This is especially necessary if you are attaching the shelf into a weaker wall material such as dry-wall or sheet-rock.

Is your 18 x 24 microwave wall bracket available in colors (painted) ? Specifically, I would want white. Thanks - RAY

Asked by: Ray A
No, unfortunately our Atlantic Metalworks products come in just the stainless steel finish. If you were to rough up the unit and use a proper metal primer, you might be able to paint the shelf though.

Asked by: TINALONG
These shelves are not rated to a certain capacity because it is largely based on the type of anchor used as well as the strength of your mounting surface. We recommend working with a local hardware store to purchase a correct mounting which will fit your needs. If you overload the shelf, the issue will typically be it coming out from the wall, not the stainless steel bending and not being able to hold the weight.

The picture shows a hole at the back. Is this accurate? I need a hole for the power cord.

Asked by: Greedy
Yes, the hole is at the back on the bottom of the shelf for the cord to go down through.
