I think that a cast iron skillet is one of the best pieces of cooking equipment to have in your home or restaurant. As long as you take care of them, they last, well, a really long time. And they’re just plain fun to cook with. My wife gave me a grill with cast iron plates and I am really enjoying its versatility and durability. Wow, I want to thank you for giving me the idea to use a cast iron "iron" as a meat or bacon press. What a great idea! I think I've come across more old irons than old bacon presses anyway.
