Atlantic Metalworks grease trap interceptors are designed to offer a dependable and affordable solution to grease collecting needs in any commercial kitchen. In this video, Dami carefully examines each component in an Atlantic Metalworks grease trap, so you can see how each aspect functions to keep excess fats, oils, and greases out of your local treatment plant.

Hi, this is Dami from Prima Supply. And I'm here to talk to you about the three main components that make up our AMW Grease Trap. The first component that I want us to talk about is the flow control device. As the name suggests, the flow control device helps to control the flow rate that is coming from your compartment sinks into the grease trap. The flow control device does that with this hole that you see right here. This hole essentially reduces the surface area and in so doing, we are able to reduce the flow rate of the wastewater that's coming from your compartment sinks into the grease trap. The second function is seen from the top. As you see from the top here, we have a second hole at the very top and what this does for us is that it allows us to vent the device.

What that simply means is that we are able to allow air to work its way with the wastewater, as it works its way into the grease trap. What that air does for us is that it allows the fats, oils, and greases to float up to the top of the mixture in the grease trap at a fairly quicker rate. So, the flow control device helps to reduce the amount of agitation by reducing the surface area with this hole and then it also helps to increase or speed up the time of separation through the process of venting from the very top. The second device that I want us to talk about is the baffle. The baffle acts as our second line of defense and it acts to separate the wastewater that's in here, that's experiencing the separation of fats, oils, and greases, and it also helps to reduce agitation.

As you can tell, the baffle is right at the inlet of the grease trap and this is by design. By having this baffle here, we have it serving as a second line of defense to reduce the flow rate coming from your compartment sinks into the grease trap. The third device that I want us to talk about is the air relief. And the air relief essentially prevents vacuum from getting in and forcing all of the water out of the grease trap at a rate that is too quick. So, these are the three component parts that you really need to know about with our...concerning our grease traps and make sure to check for these components. Again, the flow control device, make sure to check for the baffle, and make sure to check that the air relief isn't clogged up. Thank you very much for watching.
