How to Clean stainless steel tables, sinks, and...

...any other stainless steel piece of equipment that you can imagine. I used to work for a janitorial cleaning company and one of my favorite parts of the job was cleaning stainless steel sinks. Odd I know, but I think I liked it because there was always a visible difference between the dirty sink and the highly polished result that came from using the right type of cleaner and stainless steel polish. When clean, stainless steel looks nice, the only problem is that it doesn't stay that way for very long. Whether water spots, grease smears, finger prints, or the beginning of corrosion, stainless steel is not always "stainless". The good news is that stainless steel is easy to clean and maintain, it just takes the right cleaner, polish, and a little bit of effort to restore the original shine.

What type of stainless steel cleaner can I use?

Requirements for types of cleaners that can be used in restaurants, hospitals, and food preparation establishments will vary by state and local regulations. So you will have to check with your local government and state regulations when deciding on what type of cleaner to use. A good place to start your search however is right on the EPA registered label. It should contain a list of suitable uses, thus if the listing does not say that it is intended for hospital or food preparation surfaces you should move on. Most chemical manufacturers will have a list on their site of chemicals that are EPA certified for various uses. I probably don't need to say it again, but I will: always, always, always, check to make sure that the cleaning process and chemicals that you are using are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. with that being said we turn now to....
